The Zoo with My Dear

Last Thursday livi, Dear (my mom), and I went to the Houston Zoo. My mom was off of work because her school was on spring break. Unfortunately we didn't know that every school in the Houston area was out as well. The Zoo was packed there were children every where.

We parked in a parking garage right across the street from the zoo so we didn't have a long way to walk to get there. Here is livi enjoying being pushed with her sunglasses on.

We had to take her out of the stroller once we got in the zoo. There were so many people there that she couldn't see past them in her stroller. This is livi and Dear looking at the Asian elephant. She was so happy to see one in person because she sees them on her YBCR DVD.

This is livi and Dear looking at the giraffes. I don't know if you can tell or not in this pic, but the one on the left is the mom and the one to the right of her is the baby and he is nursing. It was amazing to me to see how they twist their necks around like that.

I thought this was cute. As you can see Olivia is like 2 1/2 feet according to this chart and my mom is only like 5 feet. I hope Olivia gets her height from her daddy. BTW I have no Idea who that boy is in the pic.

It was a nice day not to hot but it was warm. My mom and I decided to get some Strawberry Chills to keep cool, Olivia ate all of my moms.

They had a carousal there and that is Olivia's new favorite thing so we had to get on. Olivia picked the Monkey to get on. She held on like a big girl.

The carousal was the last thing we did before we left. By this time Olivia was ready to go home and take a nap.

As you can tell by the look on her face.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Two weekends ago we went to the Rodeo with my aunt Ella (Tella to Olivia) and her son DJ. We parked downtown and road the train there. This is us on the way there. I have found that you meet some very interesting people on the train and even more so during the rodeo. Having now been on both the Metro and the Dart, I must say the Dart is much better.

Olivia loved looking at all the people. She had on her little jean jacket but it really was a nice night. I am happy the weather was good because here you know it can change from one min to the next.

I really wanted to go so Olivia could see all the animals, but I must admit the main reason we went was for the food. As soon as we got there we stopped at the first food stand and got a turkey leg. That was Olivia's first one and as you can see she loved it. We also ate corn dogs and DJ had pizza. And to top things off...........

We ate this.. and THIS is fried cheesecake, Oreos, and Snickers. The cheesecake was good and I didn't get to taste any on the Snickers. I did however get to taste the Oreos and they were the best and craziest thing I ever tasted. I would highly recommend them.

DJ had a fried Twinkie which I can only assume he loved because he would not share it with me or my aunt (his mom).

After being there for a little while Olivia got tired of the stroller and wanted out. So I walked around with her on my shoulders and she loved it.

When my shoulders got tired my aunt took a turn. There was music playing so livi was dancing around and loved being so high up

Between all the eating we did get a chance to see a lot of animals. This is a pic of Tella and livi looking at the sheep. We also saw some camels which you could ride but livi was to small to get on one. Below are some of the other animals we saw at the petting zoo.

Kemah Boardwalk

This weekend was a busy one. On Friday evening we went to the Kemah Boardwalk with Olivia's Dear and Pops. We have been wanting to take her there for a while now but the weather is just now getting better. When we first got there the weather was good and she didn't need a hat or anything but as the sun went down the wind started to blow harder off the water. We went to Joe's Crab shack for some dinner and then we walked around

Most of the Restaurants there have great views of the water and Joe's was no exception. This is Olivia in Marcus' seat looking at the menu. We were lucky to have a table right by the windows. They have this speed boat called the beast and we got to see the people get on it and go for a ride. We are going to have to take Olivia on there as soon as she gets old enough.

Dear, Pops, and I all got the Steampots which we all really enjoyed. Olivia had some grilled chicken and fries. Marcus just got some fish and shrimp because the Steampots have crab legs in them and Marcus says he will not eat anything that looks like it might eat him first.

I don't know if anyone ever really goes to Joe's, but when the kitchen gets backed up or they are really slow they play music and the waitstaff dance. This day the were doing the Cupid Shuffle and this is a pic of Olivia dancing while she watched our waiter dance. She loves to go here for that reason.

After dinner we walked around the boardwalk. They have a lot of games, rides, as well as booths, and little shops where you can buy souvenirs.
This is a pic of my mom (Dear) trying on a hat in the hat shop. We of course did not buy this hat but we did however buy ..............

this one. This hat says "This is what spoiled looks like" which is so true. She also got some sunglasses which we had to buy because she would not take them off. I didn't get a pic of her with them on that night but I do have some on other pics I will post later.

Like I said they have rides there also. They have roller coasters and all kinds of rides. We however just got on the Carousel.

And the train. Olivia and I in front of the train before we got on.

This past weekend we went back home to Dallas well Richardson to visit everyone and go to our church. Olivia had so much fun playing with her brothers and her friend. Everyone was so excited to see her and were so surprised at how big she is now. We went to church on Sunday and we really enjoyed it.

Above is a picture of Olivia and her God mother Tracy at church on Sunday. After church on Sunday we went to Marcus' favorite place to eat, Chadders and Olivia ate some green beans, fries, and chicken.

Most of the time we were there we spent it with Olivia's God family. This is a picture of Olivia and her God brother Josh. It was so funny to hear her say all their names.

She loved the carpet because we don't have any at home in Houston. She was crawling all over the floor and I got a pic of it.

Olivia took Joe's hat and put it on. She walked around the house with the hat on .

Here is Olivia, Joe, and Darius. Joe is putting bunny ears behind Olivia's head. I guess that's why she took his hat and would not give it back. She had so much fun I can't wait until we can all go back.

Sunday evening we went to see her BBF Madelyn and the girls were so active that this is the only pic I have of the two of them. I think Lana got some good pics of them but I will have to see how they came out. They gave each other hugs and they played ball.
